Product Safety

General information on the ElektroG and BattG 2023 (WEEE)

The ElektroG and the BattG are based on the EU EPR Directive 2012/19/EU. This regulates the sale, return and proper disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries and accumulators within the EU. EPR stands for “Extended Producer Responsibility”.

From 1st July 2023, online marketplaces, among others, will be obligated to check that sellers have WEEE registration numbers in accordance with the ElektroG.

Sellers of electrical and electronic items from the corresponding device categories as well as sellers who fall under the designation “manufacturer in the sense of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act” may only sell their items if they have registered them with stiftung ear.

Furthermore, fulfilment providers are not allowed to stock, pack, address or ship electrical or electronic equipment from a seller whose WEEE numbers are missing or invalid. For this reason, we must review the mandatory information as the offers are created. However, if there are items with missing or invalid WEEE numbers in the FBK warehouse, we will inform you and arrange a return in a timely manner (unless you provide the information in a timely manner).

If you wish to sell items via Fulfillment by Kaufland that are subject to the ElektroG and the BattG, please inform yourself in advance about the general legal requirements and ensure that you have uploaded all relevant information in the Seller Portal. Further information on the legal requirements can be found here or at stiftung ear.

Market Surveillance Regulation (CE label)

The requirements of the Market Surveillance Regulation (MÜ-VO) aim to protect consumers from unsafe and non-EU-compliant products and to create a level playing field for all economic operators. CE labelling was introduced as part of this process. You can find more information on the MÜ-VO here.

If you want to offer items via FBK which are subject to the CE labelling requirements, please provide us with the following information:

  • Your customer number
  • GTIN of the item
  • Product designation / product type
  • Name and address of the manufacturer
  • Photo of the CE logo, including number on the item and/or packaging; the CE logo must be clearly visible on the photos and must be able to be linked with the item

Please send this information to the following e-mail address: fbk-msr@kaufland-marketplace.com.

After you have sent the mandatory information to us at the e-mail address provided above, you can immediately start to create your shipment and ship it to us.
