Normal hard drives can affect the performance of a multi-bay system because they send out and amplify vibrations. The MG series ensures reliable operation because this vibration effect is minimised thanks to its advanced control and sensor technology. For this purpose, several sensors capture even the smallest shocks and rotational vibrations are effectively dampened. In this way, there is no domino effect in a multi-bay server system.

Your data is essential for your business, so don't put it on the game. Toshiba has developed new technologies to give companies peace of mind. Thanks to the permanent write cache (Persistent Write Cache), your data is safe even if the power is suspended when writing on the hard drive. In the large flash cache, they are still available and are written on the hard drive as soon as the power is back.

Advanced technologies

The innovative stable plate technology from Toshiba minimises vibrations by stabilising the motor shaft on both ends. And that means improved tracking accuracy and maximum performance in reading and writing. Toshiba Dynamic Cache Technology, a self-contained cache algorithm with integrated buffer management, also optimises the assignment of the cache when reading/writing to achieve the high performance required by real-time domains.

High storage density.

MG08 and MG07 series magnetic storage hard drives are helium sealed and provide the capacity and storage density that cloud and corporate memory providers need to achieve their operating cost goals. Using a Toshiba own laser welding process, the MG08 and MG07 series are also sealed so that the leaking of the helium is excluded. The MG08 model is equipped with 16 TB and nine discs, while the MG07 series includes both a 14 TB and 9 discs and one 12 TB and eight discs.

Store more and flexibly

Companies demand flexibility and the MG series is based on the models equipped with either a 6Gbps SATA interface or a 12Gbps SAS dual interface and offer various block sizes (512e, 4Kn, 512n). In addition, the Toshiba hard drives are optionally equipped with 'Self Encrypting' technology or YOU (Sanitize Instant Erase), so the possibility to delete all data immediately instead of waiting for hours on an end of the overwrite of the hard drive.
