Statutory guidelines for the sale of products with Kaufland Global Marketplace

1. Display of the unit of measure for base price information

The display of the units of measure for base price information for the purpose of a better price transparency is regulated in Section 5 (1) PAngV [German Price Regulation]. Accordingly, kilograms or liters must be used uniformly as the reference unit of measure for the base prices information.

How do I submit the information to Kaufland Global Marketplace?

The base_price_unit attribute, which displays the base price, allows the following values:

You can use this attribute to specify which unit should be displayed:
For example: Price per kg.

The attribute can be submitted by a product information file, via API or via the manual editing mask - the calculation of the base price is then performed automatically.

If you do not fill in the base_price_unit attribute, the default category setting applies.

Please note that you, as a sellers, are responsible for the correct legally compliant information on the base prices relating to your respective offers. The absence or the incorrect indication of the base price information may result in a warning or respectively in an administrative offence.

2. Sale of vehicle parts

In Germany, certain vehicle parts may only be sold when conforming to an officially approved design. The use of non-approved components is a violation of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) and constitutes an administrative offence punishable by a fine. Furthermore, the sale of such items is prohibited.

As a seller on Kaufland.de, according to section 4.1 of the Seller Terms and Conditionsa you are obligated to offer only legally compliant items; inadmissible items will be blocked and hidden from the marketplace.

If you offer items from the following categories on Kaufland.de, we ask you to confirm their respective test certificates as well as whether they are approved for on-road use in Germany and, if necessary, to delete them from the platform:
